Cyber Security | Challenge | Sécurité Informatique
Toronto area college and university undergraduate students competed in a realistic cyber breach simulation – hands-on participation and analysis – and at least four students received intern positions with local IT Security companies.
Objectives of the event:
– Jobs for students
– Great candidates for employers
– Community recognition for sponsors
– Improving skills of the cyber workforce in Toronto
When and Where:
Lassonde School of Engineering,
Format: Students competed in teams to recon a vulnerable computer network, break through the cyber defenses, take control of the systems, and advise the company on how to defend against cyber attacks. Finalists did on-site interviews with the sponsoring companies.
Prizes: At least four students each received a fully-paid intern position in a local IT Security companies doing serious IT Security work. Each posting will be 4 to 8 months.
