Cyber Security | Challenge | Sécurité Informatique

On January 19th, thirty-two Toronto area college and university undergraduate students competed in another realistic cyber breach simulation with hands-on participation and analysis.

Congrats to the January 2019 winners!

1st Place *Tied*:  “Bash Daddies” from Seneca College
                       and:  “Blue Canary” from University of Toronto Mississauga

3rd Place:  “No U” from Seneca College

And a shout-out to all the teams who made the event such a success.  Everyone made it through to the end:  “Integer Overflows“, “Nmapping“, “Terminators“, “Pixels“, and “Filthy Casuals” from U of T Mississauga, Georgian College and York University.

Prizes:  Fourteen students got to participate in interviews for potential IT Security positions with this year’s sponsor CIBC!

Format: Students competed in teams to recon a vulnerable computer network, break through the cyber defenses, take control of the systems, and advise the company on how to defend against cyber attacks. Finalists did on-site interviews with the sponsoring company.
