CySCOTT – 2016

Our first event with fully-paid intern positions for the winners was held in in Ottawa in November 2016 and named “CySCOTT”.  Details below.  The next year, we started to expand nationally and renamed future events “CyberSCI”.  For information on the most current Ottawa event, see CyberSCI-Ottawa.

Cyber Security Challenge – Ottawa

Ottawa area college and university undergrad students will compete in a realistic cyber breach simulation – hands-on participation and analysis – to win intern positions with local IT Security companies.

We are grateful for the support from Ottawa’s Mayor Jim Watson
and Councillor Tim Tierney!

Mayor Watson graciously agreed to be on hand to meet the students and be part of the inaugural
Ottawa Mayor’s Cyber Challenge Cup

Objectives of the event:
– Jobs for students
– Great candidates for employers
– Community recognition for sponsors
– Improving skills of the cyber workforce in Ottawa

When and Where:
Saturday, November 19, 2016
Carleton University – TIM

Prizes:  Four students will each win a fully-paid Intern position in local IT Security companies doing serious IT Security work.  Each posting will be 4 to 8 months.
