Alberta area college and university undergrad students will compete in a realistic cyber breach simulation – hands-on participation and analysis – and a number of students will win IT Security job offers with local employers.

Objectives of the event:
– Jobs for students
– Great candidates for employers
– Community recognition for sponsors
– Improving skills of the cyber workforce in Alberta

When: Saturday XXX March XXX, 2020

Where: South Alberta Institute of Technology

Schools: University of Calgary, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), University of Saskatchewan, Mount Royal University

Format:  Students compete in teams to recon a vulnerable computer network, break through the cyber defenses, take control of the systems, and advise the company on how to defend against cyber attacks.  Finalists will then do on-site interviews with the the sponsoring companies.

Prizes:  Top students will be offered fully-paid Intern positions with local employers to do serious IT Security work.  Most postings will be 4 to 8 months.  Some will lead to full-time jobs.

iON United and Secured Solution are Silver level sponsors, with each offering to hire students

We will welcome other companies to also sponsor this event by providing students with job offers at the event.  As demonstrated in our other competitions, both sponsors and students will benefit from their participation.
